DISTRICT ADVANCEMENT COMMITTEES
Under the direction of the Northeast Georgia Council Advancement Committee, the district
advancement committees are responsible for providing unit level assistance with
the advancement program.
Specific duties include:
- Recruit and train merit badge counselors
- Train unit leaders on advancement issues
- Approve Eagle Leadership Service Project proposals
- Convene Eagle Boards of Review
- Serve as an appeal board for unit boards of review
- Schedule Eagle Boards of Review on the annual calendar
- Conduct BORs as scheduled
- Establish a procedure for reviewing Eagle Leadership Service Project proposals
- Be available for training or coaching unit leaders and merit badge counselors
- Work with the commissioner's staff to identify units with poor advancement
