We kickoff the Summer Camping season with one of our favorite events of the year! All Scouts and their families can spend the weekend camping in the beautiful mountains of North Georgia.

This event is organized by the Council, and involves Packs and Troops from all over Northeast Georgia.

Activities include games, crafts, hikes, campfire program, or just rocking on the porch (rocking chairs provided).

Held at Camp Rainey Mountain near Clayton, GA. during the weekend of April 28-30 (rain or shine).

RAIN OR SHINE – Camp fees are transferable but not refundable. Requests in writing to transfer must be received before May 1, 2017 at Family Camping Chairman, P.O. Box 399, Jefferson, GA 30549

Activities will include:

  • family hikes to the waterfall
  • BB’s and Archery
  • Horseshoes & games
  • Council Campfire
  • Relaxing
  • Fishin

How much does Family Camping Weekend Cost?

  • Register before on or before April 13, 2017 EARLY BIRD fee deadline – $25.00 per family
  • Register between 4/14/17 – 4/27/17 REGULAR REGISTRATION FEE – $35.00 per family
  • Register when you arrive DAY OF FEE – $50.00 per family

MEALS – Meals are “on your own.” Campfire rings are located in each group campsite. Adults, please supervise the use of personal camp stoves for cooking and please follow BSA Policy on the use of fuels.

Will Summer Camp tents be up? NO… please bring your own tent and camping equipment for sleeping.

PLEASE CARPOOL – Parking is limited. Please plan to CARRY your equipment in to your campsite. Only one car at a time will be allowed in each site on Friday night during check-in.

PACKs and TROOPS will camp together and be assigned to the same campsite.

Fishing is open… bring your own fishing gear and bait. Fishing is CATCH AND RELEASE ONLY from shoreline access points only. Fishing in designated swimming areas or from swimming or boating docks is STRICTLY PROHIBITED.

The Waterfront and boating areas will be closed during Family Camping Weekend.

Restrooms and showers are centrally located throughout the camp.

PETS ARE PROHIBITED – For everyone’s safety, please, do not bring pets from home.

CHECK-IN on Friday will begin at 6PM and be open thru 10PM and will re-open between 8AM. NO CARS will be allowed in camp after 9AM.

CHECK-OUT is Sunday morning – ALL CAMPSITES must be cleared by 11:00AM
