Local Scouting Successes
- Recognized nationally as a "Quality Council" for 22 consecutive years. Only one other council in America has attained this stature.
- Recognized throughout the Southeast as a council with one of the best summer camping programs. Camp Rainey Mountain is known regionally as the place to go for summer camp.
- Host to the largest Venturing/Exploring event in America - Winterfest, which is held every winter in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. More than 2,000 participants attend each year.
- Recognized as a leading council nationally in Friends of Scouting. The Northeast Georgia Council has a tradition of leading the Southern Region in fund raising.
- Nationally known for ScoutReach programs. The Soccer & Scouting program was modeled after our Gwinnett County ScoutReach outreach program for Latino youth.
- Serving more than 26,000 youth and 6,000 adults annually through more than 600 Scouting Units.
